Nerd Assignment #4

I was forwarded a cartoon today at Geektopia. At first glance this cartoon cracked me up. Bits are single 1's and 0's. Put eight of them together and you have a byte. Get it? Alphabytes? Yeah, I'm a geek. But shortly after I received it, someone at Geektopia sent out an email to read the actual binary code. After I did I was hysterical (and relieved that there are bigger geeks in this world than me...)

I decided the time for another Nerd Assignment was long overdue. Here it is, the moment you've been waiting for...

NERD ASSIGNMENT:

Please read the binary message and email me the deciphered message floating in his alpha-bytes. If you can figure out the message without any hints, email the message to collegehound1@hotmail.com. Don't post the answer in the comments! Everyone deserves the chance to be nerdy. If you need a hint, please look in the comments area. Don't worry if you need the hints, after all there only 10 types of the people in the world - those that understand binary and those that don't.

The first person to get me the answer gets bragging rights until the next nerd assignment...

First hint: Search for "Binary to Hex conversion" then "Hex to Ascii conversion" in google. Use the tables that come up to translate the message. It's just like being in grade school and having a code to pass notes with.

Second hint: If that doesn't really appeal to you, but you still want to know what the message says, you can use the following converters (but that's not nearly as fun...)

I thought it was funny before I knew what it said in the bowl. Now, think it's hysterical. And oh so very fitting. :o) My favorite nerd.
